Distilled Water
•Posted on March 18 2020
We only use distilled water in our handmade soaps. Distilled water does not contain the contaminants and impurities that regular tap water does.
Water is necessary in the making of soap. Handmade soap is made with a process called saponification. This process is the mixing of lye (sodium hydroxide), water, & oils to create a chemical reaction that effectively bonds them all together. This process also creates glycerin, a natural humectant that draws moisture to the skin. This is yet another reason why handmade soap is so much better for you.
