Activated charcoal has many benefits when added to handmade soap. It treats oily skin, helps fight acne and blemishes, and is great for all skin types. Activated charcoal also helps to detox and purify the skin and is used as a natural colorant in soap. It is an antibacterial and eliminates odor causing bacteria as well as preventing it. It is also exceptional at cleaning out pores, so makes a wonderful face bar.
Here at Hickory Ridge Soaps we have created an Activated Charcoal Acne Soap Bar that is perfect for the face and body. It is 100% natural, and comes unscented for those that are sensitive to scents. We've also created a soap for hunters. Our BJ's Hunting Soap is loaded with odor eliminating charcoal and scented with fresh earth for a nice cover scent while hunting. It is named after my late husband, whose idea it was to make this soap. Our family has used it for years and it is the only soap we use for hunting.
